having stayed at the crown on numerous occasions was very surprised to find the breakfast was not now included, especially after our third breakfast.The staff are not trained in any aspect of hotel service. I believe they are bar staff expected to do whatever is necessary.The coffee stain on the coffee table in hall is still there from last march now writing my name in the dust.The new owners are very pleasant but we will not meet again enough is enough.I cannot pay off your overdraft on my own. The crown is very central in emsworth serves our needs.The food served in the pub as lunch is excellent I believe this to be a franchise. The same chef is not at breakfast.The ambience in pub perfect.
Dislikes:
As I said they are new owners and yet to get thier act together.I do not want to pay to be a guinea pig.Untrained People are doing the general upkeep without supervision.However I wish them well.

It's within walking distance of my daughters house.
Dislikes:
The bathroom was in desperate need of a 'refurb' and the fact that the shower was faulty was obviously known to the management as an electric one was in the process of being fitted.

Restricted wash area, light over sink mirror not working. Nowhere to put towels in shower room. Very noisy, windows rattling, bedroom door difficult to close, loud tv noise from adjoining staff room

The room was delightful, the manager couldn't have been more helpful and friendly, the sea bass was delicious and the breakfast great. A really lovely stay and we will revisit soon. Thank you.

the room was tired and dirty, windows were filthy, toilet seat slid sideways when sat on, heated towel rail had live wires hanging out, stair wells smelt dank and dirty, breakfast was over priced.

Very friendly staff, nice from the outside and good location in town.
Dislikes:
The bathroom desperately needs re-doing- barely any hotwater or pressure and looked pretty grubby. Also breakfast wasn't included which I thought was a bit stingy.

I like character buildings but did not expect a 1970s room! The bed was uncomfortable, the windows need nets as they open onto the fire escape, the room was incredibly hot so air con is needed, never had a room without a power shower before. Also, a 10am exit time is extremely early. Breakfast was ok, but took 20 minutes to arrive. Staff were friendly and helpful at check-in. If I come to Emsworth again I would not stay at the Crown and recommend others to avoid it at all costs. Never again. Read less
